An eCommerce Scaling Secrets swipe file — the 2026 rebuild of the classic "50 TikTok Hooks" doc. Same idea. Two hundred receipts.

The original version of this document was 50 fill-in-the-blank hook templates. Good templates. But a template is a guess — you still don't know if the hook WORKS until you spend money on it.

So for 2026 we rebuilt it the way I do everything now: instead of 50 templates, you get 213 hooks. 175 of them are pulled straight from ads spending money on Meta RIGHT NOW — every single one with how long the ad has been running and a link to see the actual ad on GetHookd — plus the original skeletons, updated, as a bonus at the end. A hook that's been running 400 days straight is not a guess. Somebody's media buyer kept paying for it every single morning — that's the only vote that counts.

And yes, these are Meta ads — but hooks are platform-agnostic. The same first line that stops a thumb on Facebook stops it on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. Attention is attention.

How to read the tables:

🏆 = the ad carries a Winning performance score in the library right now

Running = consecutive days the ad has been live (as of today)

Every link opens the real ad — creative, copy, and brand — no login needed

The 13 Hook Families (And What's Printing Right Now)

We organized the 200 hooks into 13 families. Each family is a different psychological doorway into the same brain. Here's the size of each family in the library right now — active US ads, running 30+ days, matching each phrase:

Family Active ads in the library What it does
Did You Know over 2,500 Opens a curiosity gap the brain has to close
Don't Buy over 2,700 Contrarian pattern-break — an ad telling you NOT to buy
Obsessed over 2,200 Borrowed enthusiasm — emotion is contagious
POV over 1,200 Puts the viewer inside the scene
I Tried Every… over 1,100 The guinea pig did the suffering for you
Before You Buy over 1,100 Gatekeeper authority — you NEED this info first
The Real Reason over 950 The mechanism reveal — why nothing else worked
If You Struggle With… over 500 Calls out the exact sufferer by name
Stop Scrolling over 400 The oldest pattern interrupt, still printing
Nobody Talks About over 300 Insider secret energy
TikTok Made Me Buy over 250 Social proof disguised as confession
Wish I Knew Sooner over 240 Regret flip — don't repeat my mistake
Biggest Mistake over 100 Correction authority — you're doing it wrong

That's over 13,000 active ads across these 13 phrases alone. This is not TikTok trivia — this is the working vocabulary of paid social in 2026. Now let's go family by family.

Family 1 — Stop Scrolling (The Pattern Interrupt)

The original doc had two of these. It's the bluntest tool in the box — a direct command to the thumb — and over 400 ads are still running it because blunt works. The 2026 upgrade: pair the command with WHO it's for or WHAT they get, immediately.

Family 2 — TikTok Made Me Buy (The Confession)

The title hook of the original doc — and over 250 ads still run the play. The psychology: it's social proof disguised as a confession. "I didn't choose this, the algorithm chose it for everyone" removes buyer's responsibility. Notice how many of these winners are LISTICLE ads — the confession hook feeds a numbered list.

Family 3 — I Tried Every… (The Guinea Pig)

Over 1,100 ads run this frame because it collapses the whole shopping journey: someone already suffered through every alternative FOR you. The failed-attempts list IS the hook — the more specific the failures, the more believable the winner.
